<p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 24px;">About</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 18px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">The UB IBM SkillsBuild Agentic AI Learning & Hackathon gives students the chance to shape the future of AI by designing solutions that are ethical, fair and responsible. This event challenges participants to not only design innovative AI solutions but to do so with ethics at the core. Guided by IBM mentors and using IBM watsonx, teams will tackle real world challenges facing students and researchers, applying principles of of agentic AI every step of the way. From reducing bias, to ensuring accessibility, this hackathon empowers participants to imagine a future where technology doesn't just work, but works for everyone.</span></p><p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><br></span></p><p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 24px;">Your Agentic AI Journey</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 18px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">The journey begins two weeks before the hackathon with a virtual AI learning path. This includes live (recorded) webinars and self-paced modules, with the opportunity to earn industry-recognized IBM credentials. The learning plan is open to all UB students, faculty, and administrators, and can be completed even if you don't plan to participate in the hackathon.</span></p><p><span style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0);"><br></span></p><p><span style="font-size: 24px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">The Hackathon</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 18px; color: rgb(0, 0, 0);">On May 1, selected participants will gather at University at Buffalo and work side by side with IBM mentors and present their projects in front of UB and IBM executive judges. They will design and prototype AI solutions while gaining hands-on experience with generative AI and addressing the challenges through the lens of agentic AI design while still ensuring a focus on transparency, fairness, inclusivity and privacy. This collaborative event is more than a competition. It's a chance to develop problem-solving skills, build teamwork and learn from experts in the field.</span></p>
